You know that feeling when you put on a piece of clothing and it fits you just right? You get that extra strut in your walk and the confidence picks up. Well, our Groups feature may not have you strutting like John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever, but it will make managing the various people and the jobs they perform a lot easier. You don’t want just anyone creating and deleting data from your field management system, do you?
With Groups, you can now get granular with user permissions and access to match different roles across your project. Need someone to manage only forms and not tasks? Or a Drawing Manager who only handles drawings in the system and nothing else? No problem, just create a new group for users, assign the appropriate rights, and you’re set. There are plenty of combinations of rights you can play with to suit your project’s needs.
Groups can play an important role in ensuring that data from your jobs is handled the right way and data integrity is maintained. You don’t want just anyone adding or deleting data from your system.
Power user tip:
Don’t go overboard though. Define two or three groups that make sense for your team. Too many groups and rules and you’ll start getting people confused on site.
